Casual for a Cause: Hunting with Soldiers

In May, through our Casual for a Cause fundraising program, First Bank employees raised $1,118.58 for Hunting with Soldiers, a non-profit that brings combat veterans into the great outdoors for enjoyment, relaxation, and healing.

Booker T. Washington Elementary: Teacher Appreciation Week

The First Bank team has been busy this month with our Partner in Education, Booker T. Washington Elementary School. Throughout Teacher Appreciation Week, we treated teachers to lunch, specialty teas, and Coke floats. We also provided drinks and snacks for the teachers and volunteers at Booker T. Washington's Field Day. It's our way of saying thank you to our teachers for everything they do throughout the year!

Black Dog Charity Dinner and Auction

First Bank Aledo was a proud sponsor of the Black Dog Charity Dinner and Auction, recently held in Fort Worth. Black Dog Charity supports local people in the fight against blood cancers. The event raised over $300,000 for Lymphoma and Leukemia patients in our community.

Coder Elementary: Excellence in Attendance

First Bank Aledo donated another round of delicious ice cream sandwiches to Coder Elementary as part of their Excellence in Attendance incentive program. Each class gets to fill out a new letter in “attendance” each time the whole class is present and once they spell it out, their class gets to indulge in a sweet treat!

Midwestern State University Job Fair

Diana Gwin, Human Resources Director, represented First Bank at the job fair hosted by Midwestern State University. Our primary focus was on recruiting prospective employees, specifically individuals majoring in accountancy and finance. Banking is a wonderful career choice and First Bank would be honored to employ our local graduates.

A Field Trip to the Bank: Coder Elementary

Our Aledo branch recently hosted the Coder Elementary 1st graders for a field trip all about money and banking. This has been a tradition for First Bank and Coder Elementary since the branch was opened. The students were taken on a full tour of the bank, including the safe deposit boxes, teller line, and the infamous vault, then enjoyed a hot dog lunch on the patio. Each first grader left with a coloring book and a piggy bank with fifty cents in it to encourage them to start saving!

Our charity for Casual for a Cause in February was the Humane Society of Wichita County. First Bank employees donated to support their mission of providing food, shelter, medical care and affection to homeless, abused and abandoned animals until they can find their forever homes.
